If you're a non-technical founder with an AI product idea, you have three real options: hire a co-founding CTO, outsource to an agency, or use a Build-Operate-Transfer service like ours. Most founders default to the agency route because it feels like the lowest-commitment path. It usually isn't.

Here's how each one actually plays out.

The agency math

You sign a fixed-bid contract for, say, ₹15–25 lakh. The agency assigns whoever's bench is empty. They build to spec — exactly what's written, nothing more — and ship a v1 in three to four months. Then they hand you a codebase, a 90-day warranty, and an invoice for the next phase.

What you actually got: a working app. What you didn't get: anyone whose career depends on this thing succeeding. The agency gets paid the same whether your launch flops or doubles in six months. And once they're gone, you're paying a freelance maintainer who didn't write the code, or rehiring the agency at higher rates because the original team has rolled off.

The CTO math

You give up 20–40% equity to find a technical co-founder. They spend the first six months building, the next six raising — and if they walk, you have a half-built product, no one who knows the codebase, and a cap table that scares off the next CTO candidate. The handoff is real. Most agency-built products are unmaintainable by anyone who didn't build them. Ours have to survive the transfer, so we write the README we'd want to inherit, document the on-call runbook, and pre-build the dashboards your future hire will need.

Lower upfront cash. A founder who hasn't raised a seed round can't write a ₹20 lakh cheque. They can pay a smaller kickoff, give us a small share of revenue while we operate together, and buy us out at the end on terms that map to actual revenue, not a pre-revenue valuation.
